After the EHF European Cup break, Baltic Handball League is back. Unfortunately, neither of the two BHL teams did not qualified for the next round of EHF European Cup. Latvians – ZRHK Tenax Dobele lost both games against A.C.PAOK (Greece) –25:28 and 24:29, but Pölva Serviti in the second game of the 3rd round of the EHF European Cup, played a draw with SGAU-Saratov (Russia) – 23:23. This time it was not enough to qualify for the next round, as in Saratov they suffered a loss by one goal difference (24:25), so in the sum of two games – 1.

For this weekend in BHL there are eight games scheduled. All three Latvian teams, both on Saturday and Sunday, are going to play ‘home games’ in Latvia. And their opponents will be from Lithuania – HC Vilnius, VHC Šviesa, Varsa / Stronglasas Alytus and Granitas-Karys Kaunas. ZRHK Tenax Dobele is in 4th place in the tournament table, and Dobele’s this week’s opponents Varsa Stronglas are in 10th place and Granitas-Karys in 6th place. SK Latgols, still without wins, takes the last place in the tournament table (13th), but HK Ogre with three victories 12th place, their opponents are going to be – HC Vilnius with a balance of five wins and four losses, in 7th place, but VHC Šviesa in 5th place. Also one Estonian and one Lithuanian derby is ahead of us. Estonians SK Tapa and Raasiku/Mistra are going to play on Saturday, but HC Dragunas Klaipeda and Varsa Stronglasas Alytus on Sunday.
